SOMETIMES Black Friday Meets a Dream You’ve Carried for Years…

EXPLORE THE SALE:

Every year, when Black Friday rolls in, I can’t help but smile at the irony. It’s the most impulsive shopping moment in our culture — a weekend built on fast decisions and the “add to cart” chaos. I suffer from this affliction myself.
But in all my years as a photographer, I cannot recall when I’ve ever had someone book a boudoir photoshoot with me on impulse.

Cannot recall one.

If you’ve been in my studio, or even just in my inbox, I know something about you:
You’ve been thinking about this for a long time.

This dream usually starts as a whisper

Most of my clients tell me they first thought about doing a boudoir session months or YEARRRSSS before they finally reach out. It pops into their mind during a big birthday. Or after a tough year. Or while folding laundry, wondering where the “old me” went. Or during a moment when they want to see themselves the way others see them.

But that whisper often gets pushed away by very real worries:

  • “I want to lose a few more pounds.”

  • “I don’t know if I’m confident enough.”

  • “Life is too busy right now.”

  • “Can I really do this for me?”

I hear these stories so often that they’ve become a part of my understanding of women.

boudoir photography session isn’t something you leap into—it’s something you grow toward.
It requires trust. Vulnerability. A readiness that only comes when the heart says, “Okay… now.”

So why does Black Friday suddenly become the moment?

It’s not the price. I promise you—it’s never the price.

Black Friday gives women something they rarely give themselves: permission.
Permission to invest in themselves.
Permission to stop waiting.
Permission to prioritize something that has been tucked away for far too long.

This time of year carries a certain energy…
a sense of closure, reflection, renewal.
We start thinking about who we were this year — and who we want to become in the next.

That’s why Black Friday becomes more than "the sale."
It becomes a catalyst.

IA moment that gently removes that final barrier of hesitation.

I see it every year….

Women message me saying:

“I’ve wanted to do this forever… I’m finally ready.”
“I told myself next year. But this feels like the sign I needed.”
“I don’t want to keep putting myself off.”

….And I feel that deeply.
Because you deserve a moment that’s yours — without apology.

A new year deserves a new version of you

There is something sacred about ending a year with a luxury boudoir experience or a female empowerment photoshoot. It marks a shift…
“I’m choosing myself.”
“I’m done waiting.”
“I’m stepping into a new chapter.”

It isn’t an impulse.

It’s recognition.
It’s readiness.

If this idea has been living quietly in you…

If something inside you stirs at the thought of seeing yourself in a whole new way…
If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” —

This is it.
Love,
Cate
